Ever since I was this young-minded, fickle girl.
When does the redemption from this mortal failure, (some would call
it a success) start? This is maybe just what someone like me needs to
slowly lose control—And maybe that’s just what I want.
“It reverberates, and echoes you know. It bounces off the primordial
walls in my head, others…find harmony there. I find it running parallel
to everything I’ve ever feared since I was a figurine. Tick, Tock. It
moves again…and I can feel the hour hand now…it’s creeping slowly up my
spine. Tick. Tock… …and there it goes again. I’m trying to catch the
moments of the in-betweens, it only leaves you stuck on the offbeat if
you try to keep up. Tick…tock — The second hand didn’t even move an
inch. Enough.” Was it supposed to be this way? Caught in-between a
broken clock, and the undoing of time itself. I’m afraid there’s no
going back, yes? That thought itself, quells the anxiety for a moment
maybe too, the idea of finality. No back to forth then back again.
Something in finale, encore raised with a roaring crowd. Things you
cannot turn off.
Eyes…up!
The ossuary — It housed the bones I bared before you.
Tiny figments of my imagination laid alone in it, dormant through
time. I reconcile with it now. But I’ve never been one to find meaning
in pitiful trinkets, if you could even call what lay in this box a
trinket…it’s one of bones—old, & decrepit. The stench is palpable,
the sight is one that would rear a head in both directions, now. These
bones were broken long before they wound up in a box like this
however.
Nothing is born broken, after all. Where will you end up? These were
filed down over years, decades — a lifetime of standing tall does that
to you. But then, is it worth it? To stand tall is to stand out as well.
That pressure holds weight, and with enough of it, you’d be filed down
too…can you take it?
See, I first began to think mountains could never be moved.
That
then, the earth held us.
Suns were meant to provide warmth.
Stars would never mean to die.
People, hid no lie.
And there were never wrong answers.
But then you move forward,
back.
Adjacently now – more than ever.
For if parallels were in our forms,
they exist to keep us there.
Suspended, one-to-one.
Same-like.
No differs here.
A contract, sealed with
finites.
Now…one must first start in a head, body-like motion.
All in which never seems – still.
Seconded though, a forwardness
remains.
A prior kin, a lost ark, a bound to hold. Take it.
Threaded through
into secant lines.
Tug on one, small-like.
Is it beautiful…to you?
Tug on it a lot actually.
But not to reveal its threading! Just enough for it to take shape in
those…smaller spaces, like you take forth now.
“You’ve been so thin – for so long?
For why?
Yet, there’s still no threading to you! Nor thread-like lines
exposed!!!
No frizz from the friction, or worn down nature in your frame.
No
guidance to follow towards your aches…no rhyme to the songs you alone
sing.
Though, I know all of which has been shaving, weighing…even breaking
you down. Again I ask, why?
You would look so forlorn unraveled-like.
It’s a blessing you did
not!
It reminds me of that time, I too. Was reduced.”
It was just I, with the last of my embers–stilled.
So nigh to ash then, but did you notice…how stoked my flame is right
now? Mustn’t you forget dear, we are all the same!
You must break! In now!!!
Go forth, landing on the hardest of beds, you alone. Lie rest
in.
You again, though. Must. Be. Still.
And now, for the first time.
Accept it.
Though did you know?
That even I, am birthed from these embers that lie deep below the
rapture, the calling, your peace.
But for now, please hold some mindfulness here.
Nothing…comes from ash.
You must break, collapse…then finally!
Eclipse yourself in nature, and lastly now!!!
Forsake them.
All. Of. Them.
For all who bear witness to this inwards
collapse.
Believe me.
They cannot do anything but, forever work
to quell those imminent pulses.
For you now, – have perused their
own. Seek solace through that.
That you – Above all the other
morally dissonant beings.
“Are finally whole.”
You now…only light into rebirths!!! Aren’t you thrilled?
There is
no succumbed ache to replace a feeling like – that.
Though, once you
finally let it take you over.
There’s the thrills end.
Then, it shall finally be time to revel
in your prowess. The differences in you & I, for example!
Like that threading in you. It can make twine even, did you know?
Into yarn too, to rope, now. Further it then!
But no…
No tying of those noose-like knots you only, can never do correct.
You failed then, and will fail towards it again.
Now!!!
Your yarn!
Make it into rope.
A bridge now too.
NO!
Maybe keep it as rope, actually!!!
Pull up that kinship that rests – that one like before!
The one that
lays down under!!!
Look towards the abyss, And next…
See what you alone will find.
Maybe more of you? – the same? Pull up your kin, then. If that’s still
you… I must add.
Oddity 2: Night Terror
My hair is getting to an objectively long point now.
I don’t get nightmares anymore, let alone dreams when I do sleep.
I think I’ve chalked it towards my psychiatric cocktail of
medicine.
The same ones I’ve had since I was 14, I’ve taken them all, religiously,
righteously…since that age, too.
Though, my sleep related issues
always acted as a precursor, a preview, something in the ‘former’ for me
to figure out…what then? “I had a nightmare, again.”
It may be the only thing that makes sense after what happened
before.
The day, it was lovely, it was brisk, dreary, light rain showers.
Nothing to obstruct me–us.
Though just enough to bring out the one
thing I despise more than heat, when people assume the lack of it means
an inverted, worse state—and now something to complain about. The misty
rain was non-intrusive, you wouldn’t even notice it.
The sort of rain that can just exist, but the miserable people will
still complain about the slight dampening on their dress.
It seems I’ll have to be the miserable one too, and say, I really loathe
those types—the complainers. So I’ll just settle with this. I really
like rainy weather.
Much like how I love this long hair.
I just only realized how much of a love it is actually. I fell asleep
again but was jolted out of a rem cycle this time.
As I came to, out of a nightmare I can’t even remember, I know that
my hands, fingers, went immediately towards my knotted bed head and
tugged out of desperation…akin to a plead…“yeah, it’s still long.” I
settled down a bit after the immediate, then leaned into the next,
fleeting thought. To which I would soon forget. As my memory fades, a
feeling that either takes your tongue, or waits for you to choke the
same—envelops me. Something that lies dormant, beneath breathy whispers,
and music only slightly out of key. It tastes of stilled liquor, it’s
near-sighted—and I can’t fight back. I want to know what it is, I want
to be what it is, without knowing it at all. All I do know however, is
the chasms of homes locked in perpetual wars. Stricken belief systems,
rigid…you die there.
Much like in staying put, much like in staying home, nothing ever
happens, and it’s happening to everyone. Everywhere I go, like moths
drawn to flames, like threadings soon to twine, there is something so
much more to bear, and it eats at everyone. “It is everyone, now that I
think.
And everywhere I look,
“I see your eyes again, and I’m choked between familiars that had no
meaning together.”
Odddity 3: As deep as you are tall, as suffocating as you are
beautiful
Now, what are the right words to describe something so deep as it is
tall? Where does redemption pass forth into retribution?
Why did my
words choke my vocal cords so tight, they snapped.
What son of God made rules like this, ones you don’t have to follow,
but ones that must be accounted for.
I’d like to think we all can
feel it – the weight, that is. It reminds me of enduring the worst, the
abominable human-spirit that never quits.
What do we do to become
the thing we hate? A lack of foresightedness?
Near, far?
Out in weathered plains I saw a glimpse of what nurturing does to
build one not only up, but out. It’s still there, right here
actually.
Beaming in my chest—refracted light.
With it, the moths seem to do all they can to see who’ll shrivel
up first.
But deeper in cavities, there lay a thread. Ever so small, but still. As
deep as tall it is.
This thread…calls to you. To a pattern that’s unknown in form but with
ecstasy it erupts.
I didn’t know what to do with it either. I didn’t heed the calls, or
answer the prayers—let alone, look it in its eyes when it spoke to
me.
For me, it knows every scent. Maybe you saw her first though? Caught a
glimpse between the lines, between the letters?
Like a ghost in the mirror.
A ghost in the wings?
Like sirens, entrenching weight follows each tone. Enough to keep my
head below the surface level.
Deep breathes in and out of clarity help.
Though the undertow unravels all, it’ll even make a warrior out of you
too, if you let it…promise it your secrets, dear — you don’t have
anything to hide still…do you?
Speak.
Or,
Forever hold your peace?
I laid there in the dark for some while.
I thought indifference couldn’t follow me here. I thought black didn’t
fade to gray, I thought I’d never lose my footing. I thought— That’s all
I’ll ever do…is think.
Think, for what exactly?
To rebuttal an already exposed sore?
All you can do is hurt, but
watch them break down the grease, then. Trust. It was never meant to
hold you this close yet, you’re still in its wake.
The knowledge is
comforting, and what lingers inside of you is foreboding—an instinctual
nature that lie deep inside those wounds.
To weep or not is more worrying than the onset of tears. The last
thing on your face before death, the last thing on your mind.
What
are you thinking? Do you even think, in a moment like that?
Are you
thinking right now? And why is that bothersome, or burdensome?
Even
worse, worrisome.
Because the more you worry, the more it drills farther into this
husk, a husk with bones.
A husk with feelings that need reminded of
life, and not death.
Not superficial crystals, or inescapable dialogues with people who
wouldn’t dare dip their toes into your tepid waters.
But I need climax, to be displayed like a God.
I want bullets
with no exit wounds, depth with no drowning, nothing to bring me back to
something.
I’ll watch the world relapse, I’ll cherish a fleeting
breath, I’ll love just a little harder so that when I shout your name it
wouldn’t dare return back an echo, for there can be no other alter.
I’d lay with my peace, and count til three.
Suddenly there’s the bell, how it chimes is unrecognizable now but I
still feel the vibrations in my chest that remind me—it’s home. I wallow
in my slowness for a bit.
I wallow a fair bit, actually.
Mainly reminiscing towards the past, and towards this present I
wouldn’t dare predict. There are school kids that run around again, and
the clock suddenly lines up correctly. For once, or twice it does.
There’s something forward, comforting…
To be beautiful is to have timing, sequence, and luck billow up over
cadences, eventually we all can become it. To be tall is to just own the
latter, a fair bit of luck. Though to be deep, is to have suffocated
beneath the howl of winter, and still grasp onto what the silence of
solitude’s best, bring. A new day, a new winter, someone to hold
again—one day.
Burn–I want you all in ash, in figments of passed time.
I saw
your true nature.
The one that lays dormant for half a decade, the one that seeps into
your chest cavities, and billows up through your neck–out your lying
mouth.
The same one that would tell me it’s going to be alright. The one that
kissed me goodnight, it sang sweet tones, after being bound for so long.
Breaking them with your lips felt as if I had been underwater, sucking
in H2o till my lungs would break. I learned how to breathe down
under…over and over again. You all eventually rear your head though. I
saw mine twist at 90 degrees, trying to look away from what you’ve
become–from what I had become too.
Hollowness, betwixted my demons into you just so I could rest my head
on pillows that were never mine.
It was never home, and you were
never that either.
I lost that years ago, just as I lost control…the last time I lost
control.
There was a point in time where I thought it wasn’t all for nothing,
that in turning tides–there would be a spot for me, with glory. Golden
walls, birth-righted figurines, my name itched in its halls. A house so
deep it allowed cracks to simply be swallowed up. No one would notice
the difference anyways,
I thought. I thought too much, and it made me sick.
Sicker than
whatever it is eating at me, sicker than the kiss they told me to take,
sicker than whatever it made me turn into. I sat,
and I watched
instead.
I saw the halls turn rusted green, I saw my hands crack in
displeasure,
there was blood.
A lot of it.
I didn’t know they’d allow me
to, I still feel it all.
On the bad days it’s like I’m still there, in your bed.
On the good days I’m still scared of what hope envisions in me,
moving on? A task for the Gods I’m afraid, letting go? Something only my
feeble frame can do, eventually,
I can imagine these hands doing
something of the sorts–
letting go,
being new,
having hope.
It’s still just me.
Through it all.
